The Stamford Fire Department responded to 59 Liberty Street, Liberty Commons Condo Unit 5, at 14:38 on multiple calls for a building on fire.  Upon arrival at 14:40, the first due fire companies from the West Side Fire Station found a fire on an exterior 2nd floor porch of a 4-story, wood frame, multiple dwelling townhouse.  The fire was quickly extinguished by those first responding firefighters, which prevented the fire from extending to the interior of the structure.  The fire was declared under control at 14:49. 

The Fire Department response included 4 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, 1 Rescue, and 1 Deputy Chief with 26 personnel plus a Deputy Fire Marshal and Mechanic.  No occupants were injured or displaced from the townhouse and no firefighters were injured.  The cause and origin is being investigated by the Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office.
