Stamford, CT (August 19, 2024) – At 12:07 PM, Stamford firefighters were dispatched to a report of flames from the roof by a passer-by at 92 Dolphin Cove Quay in the Waterside section of the city.
The first-arriving fire company from the West Side Fire Station found fire coming from the attic of the single-family residential structure.
Firefighters attacked the fire from both inside the attic, and the exterior, halting the rapid spread of fire along the wood shingle roof. The owner was not home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to fire department personnel.
The first fire engine arrived within 4 minutes and the fire was placed under control at 12:31 PM. Firefighters remained on the scene until 1:47 PM performing overhaul and salvage activities.
The first alarm fire brought a total of 4 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, and both Shift Commanders for a total of 30 fire department personnel.
Additional scene support was provided by the Stamford Police Department, Stamford Emergency Medical Services, Stamford Fire Department Training Division, and the Stamford Fire Department Mechanical Division.
The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
