STAMFORD, CT (July 30, 2024) – At 5:18 PM, Stamford firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 44 Hearthstone Court in the Cove neighborhood.

The first-arriving fire company from the Glenbrook Fire Station found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the single-family residential structure.

Firefighters located and began to extinguish the fire that appeared to have started in a rear bathroom while other firefighters ventilated windows and doors.  All occupants in the home evacuated on their own prior to the Fire Department’s arrival and were not injured.

The first fire unit arrived within 5 minutes and the fire was placed under control within 6 minutes of their arrival. Firefighters remained on the scene for an additional half hour performing overhaul and salvage duties.

A total of 4 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, and the Shift Commander operated at the scene with a total of 30 fire department personnel.

There were no injuries to firefighters working at the scene.

Additional scene support was provided by the Stamford Police Department, Stamford Emergency Medical Services, Stamford Fire Department Training Division, and the Stamford Fire Department Mechanical Division.

The Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
