On Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:19 pm the Stamford Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from residents of the Palmer’s Landing condo complex reporting a vessel in distress with passengers aboard yelling "We need help" in the vicinity of the hurricane barrier in Stamford Harbor. Fire units from the East Side, Waterside, Woodside & Central Firehouses responded to the harbor along with Stamford EMS and Stamford PD. The City of Stamford Fire Boat (Unit 236) arrived on the scene and found a 40 foot boat experiencing an engine problem. The crew of Unit 236 made contact with the operator of the distressed vessel and assisted them a dock. It appeared that the vessel in distress was undamaged and simply had engine issues. Occupants reported they had been drifting for approximately 1 hour. All emergency units cleared the scene by 11:52 pm.
