Units responded to 273 Washington Blvd @2044 for a walk-in, report of a fire on the third floor. One of the occupants of the building walked in to South End Fire Station and reported that his building was on fire.

Units from the South End Fire Station #2 responded along with additional units from Headquarters, Woodside and the Shippan Firehouse.

Upon arriving, the first engine company reported smoke coming from the third floor of the building. A hoseline was stretched, and a fire which originated in the 3rd floor bathroom, was extinguished and declared under control @ 2106.

Some of the building occupants were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

3 engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 heavy rescue, 1RIT unit, several police and EMS responded to the call as well.
