Stamford Firefighters responded to a motorcyclist down and in the roadway this morning on High Ridge Road, near the intersection of Marva Lane.

Firefighters from Stamford Fire Department Engine 8 arrived on scene within three minutes of being dispatched and found the injured operator of a motorcycle lying in the roadway on High Ridge Road. The motorcycle was found several feet away on High Ridge Road and lying on its side.

The operator of the motorcycle was injured and was assisted by firefighters and Stamford EMS personnel at the scene. Fortunately, the operator of the motorcycle avoided significant injury due to the use of a helmet and protective leather clothing. Stamford EMS personnel transported the operator of the motorcycle to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Firefighters from the Turn of River Fire Department also responded to the scene and provided assistance.

The incident is under investigation by the Stamford Police Department.
